The First Noel

Merry Christmas Everyone. What a wonderful time of year. As a child I remember loving the magic of it all... the footprints left by reindeer, the way Christmas carols made me feel and waking up early to see that we had had a jolly, plump, red suited visitor in the middle of the night.
Now that I am an adult, I still love those things, but I also love the way the holiday brings family together, watching the children's faces light up at the mention of Santa and Rudolf. I love how this season bring charitable acts out in all of us and I love the spirit of the holiday. Again, what a wonderful time of year.

A few years ago a very talented friend of mine, Seth Tait, arranged this song for me to sing in church. I love it. Seth is brilliant and to me, this song represents what Christmas is really all about. I love every part of Christmas, but this is the part I treasure most.

This video is sort of an "Ode" to this song and the meaning of Christmas. I hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think. May we all laugh, cry, snuggle and remember the true meaning of Christmas this holiday season.

In the Middle

Okay, I am in the middle of a bunch of projects. Last weekend I was in the studio recording a version of the First Noel. It was composed/arranged and played by my good friend Seth Tait whom is a genius and so so talented. Thank you Seth.
I have also been in the studio With Dean kaelin doing some inspirational/religious songs. Most of them are hymn remakes and I am so excited to finish them. They have a very unique sound... a sound I've never heard on hymn. It should be fun.
A few days after Christmas my Husband, my little boy and I are off to Maui for a well deserved vacation. It's been a crazy year for us... pregnant, emergency c-section, husband working like crazy, trying to produce more music, firesides and concerts and on and on and on.
I must say that being a Mom is the best thing (and hardest thing I have ever done). I feel like I've joined some club that I never knew about... crazy and exciting. I don't think, besides my husband, I have ever loved somebody so much. I'm blessed, that is for sure.

I have been horrible at keeping up with this. I just do so much on Facebook, I forget about my blog. How is everyone anyway?

Ok, I just got back from the most amazing trip to Peru. My mom Brother and I went there to do a humanitarian expedition (Scott didn't go. He couldn't miss work).

We did so much in two weeks it was crazy. If you have ever read the book the Sunflower by Richard Paul Evans, we went to that Orphanage. It was amazing. If you haven't read the book, I recommend it. It is a great read.

Ok so, there are 40 kids there and we got to build a new dorm for them and I got to cut hair. The hair was fun, the dorm was not easy but a good thing to do. They are trying to expand and get more kids off the streets so it will benefit them very much.

Besides the Orphanage we went to Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, and another ruin which sounds like "sexy woman" when you say it.

We went to loads of markets and ate at great and fun places. We also went to a village at 17,000 feet ( some got a little sick from the elevation change) and gave them shampoo, clothes, toothbrushes, etc. Then we got to play soccer with the village woman ( they killed us) and race their donkeys.

We then went to Cusco and my brother and I Bungee Jumped at 400 feet. It is the second highest in the world and so so so so scary but, really worth it. Worth it even though I tore my shoulder doing it and had to get an MRI and might have to get surgery. Oh well, it was a once in a lifetime thing.

I will for sure post pics of all these things later and hopefully some video. It was a blast.

Other than that, I am competing in them Mormon times showcase and I am in the top twelve. If I make it to Top six, I get to perform in the concert on the 27th. So, if you can, go to www.mormontimes.com and vote for my song.

Hey Everyone. Hey I have great news. I have been competing on Mormontimes.com in their summer showcase and was lucky enough to be in the top four for last month. From here, I will go on to compete for the top six at the end of the summer. Cross your fingers for me. I really hope to perform at the big concert ( which is what the top six get to do).

If you want to vote for me again the voting for the top six starts of August 1st. You can vote every day, once a day. If you do I would just luv you forever.

Other big news, I will be leaving the country for three weeks on July 17th - August 6th for Peru. I am doing a humanitarian tour with my mom and brother. I can't wait. This is something I have wanted to do for many many years. It will be unforgettable.

Scott and I have had a crazy and fun summer. We went to Hawaii with my family when my brother came home from the mission. We have also gone boating quite a bit.

Last night, we were going to a family BBQ in the mountains up millcreek canyon. On the way there, we ran over this really weird medal thingy in the road and, uh - oh, had to change our tire. I thought it was funny, and another little adventure. Scott was a little frustrated because we were so late to the party, but oh-well, these things happen.

I am also happy it is September. My fav. time of year. The weather rocks

Last Week Was Crazy and fun. It was Crazy fun. I had Four big concert type events that were all a blast and a big success. Thank you to all of you who came out to enjoy them with me. My New CD is now available on Amazon MP3 and myspace as well. It will be on You Tube shortly. Thank again everyone. This summer is rockin it so far.

South Jordan Country Fest Concert!!!

So Today has been a catch up day. Kinda nice. I have heard from a few friends that I havn't seen in years on my blog also which has been awesome. Thanks for all of the comments. Hey, for all of you from South Jordan, and anywhere else. I am going to be singing at the Country Fest on Saturday the 21st of June from 6:15-7:00. If you come, please come find me after. I would love to see you.
Also, for all of you American Idol fans. David Arch. Made it through. David and I share the same vocal coach ( he is also my producer) Dean Kaelin so I have spent time with David the last couple or years. It has been so much fun to watch him succedd and have this life long dream of his come true. Go David Archuleta.
